Weeping Prisoners **general public**

Five friends and I, we're bound side by side,
stretched to the limit, and struck 'til we've cried.
We each have a name, in fact two are the same,
but our torturer knows, one's skinny, one's wide.

Another money problem! **general public**

Three people were on a business trip and had to stay in a hotel over night. The price of the room was $30.00, so the group decided to split one room, three ways. Each one paid $10.00. Well after they paid, the manager realized that he/she overcharged them on their room. The room only cost $25.00, so he/she gave the bellperson five loonies to give to the three people. On his/her way up to the room the bellperson was trying to think of a way to split $5.00 three ways. After thinking about it awhile, he/she decided to keep $2.00 for himself/herself and give each person a loonie back. Now, if each person (who paid $10) gets $1 back that means they each paid $9.00 ($10 - $1 = $9 ). $9.00 multiplied by 3 (because there are three people) equals $27.00 plus the $2.00 the bellperson kept equals $29.00! What happened to the missing dollar!? What is the flaw?

I changed the original problem to a canadian non-gender specific problem :)

A penny for your thoughts.**general public**

You have 12 pennys, one weighs slighlty less or slightly more than the others. Using an equal arm balance (kinda like a teeter totter, or a justice scale) and only making 3 weighings determine which one is different and whether it is slightly less or slightly more.

Fair Trade **general public**

Ted at the market is a shrewd business man. He knows the exact value of anything, and knowing this, he never comes out on the bottom of a trade. For example he would never sell three loaves of bread for a basket. Nor would he sell a basket and a fish for four loaves of bread. But he would sell you two fish for a loaf of bread and a basket.

Would he sell you three fish and three loaves for four baskets?

The Forsaken Ones **general public**

Carefully consider the ensembles below,
Illiteracy runs rampant, for flair or for show,
But letters forsaken, just to gratify the eyes,
combine to create, a bluff or disguise.

Pistols and flowers,
a great metal blimp,
the biggest group of bugs,
and a seamate of shrimp

The list should be five, but one could not stay,
for the fifth, by definition, is 'one turned away'.
